Cape Hillsborough

We must be getting better at this slow travel thing... we drove 40 kilometres yesterday to our next destination.

Just north of Mackay is Cape Hillsborough National Park, well known for the kangaroos on the beach there each morning at sunrise. We learnt it's one of only 4 beaches in Australia where Eastern Grey Kangaroos and Agile Wallabies  come to the beach to feed on mangrove seed pods.

A relaxing couple of days. Warm with a bit of rain.

So cool to see an old (ancient?) indigenous fish trap.

I really want to see the ones at Brewarrina but until then, this memory will have to do.
