We stopped at Larrimah for a walk around the town... didn't find any missing people.
We continued on to Bitter Springs, set up the van...
and walked the 300m to spend that afternoon relaxing and floating down the creek - 33° and crystal clear.
The wet season sees metres of rain flood this country, so the springs and everything around closes shop for 5 months of the year.
The evidence of the wet can be seen everywhere you look.
There's other Springs at Mataranka itself we've been to before, so we headed there the next day, Monday, for a swim and relax in the shade.
Rinse and repeat... the only other thing we did of note was to go to the whip cracking show at the rodeo grounds. Very cool - Nathan "Whippy" Griggs puts on a good show. Very entertaining with music, kids involved - lots of fun for a donation per person without any pressure... the buskers at Circular Quay could learn a lot from him!
Feeling very relaxed.
On to Katherine next, less than 2 hours north towards Darwin
