Kununurra is the town that was built to be the centre of the Ord River Irrigation Area. There's not too many towns that are younger than us!
We did a food and alcohol shop here (alcohol restrictions are evident everywhere in this part of Australia) and stayed a night in a caravan park with a pool and a powered site to run the air conditioning.

To be honest, we were surprised the area under cultivation wasn't bigger, given the capacity of Lake Argyle. |
