Kununurra

Kununurra is the town that was built to be the centre of the Ord River Irrigation Area. There's not too many towns that are younger than us!

We did a food and alcohol shop here (alcohol restrictions are evident everywhere in this part of Australia) and stayed a night in a caravan park with a pool and a powered site to run the air conditioning. 

We did a flight from here 


Over the ORIA 
To be honest, we were surprised the area under cultivation wasn't bigger,  given the capacity of Lake Argyle.

Purnululu (The Bungle Bungles)
While of course local indigenous people knew of the range, they were pretty unknown until only 1982 as far as tourism goes. 
 



The Argyle Diamond Mine - closed a few years ago.
