Lake Argyle

Built as part of the Ord River scheme, Lake Argyle is the 2nd largest man-made body of water in Australia, after Tasmania's Gordon.
30000 freshwater crocs apparently swim happily in a body of water about 20x the volume of Sydney Harbour.

It's just across the border into WA. After the inspection point.

A bit "Back to the Future". Current time lower left, 11:43am. 1hr 15mins travel time, arrival time is 11:28am

We spent 4 nights here.
And why not?
37+ degrees, but some nice entertainment. Pool. Views.

The Durack family (Dame Mary etc.) were the historic pastoral family in the Kimberley region
Epic story of their cattle drive from southern Queensland, north, through the Territory and into the Kimberley. People were tougher back then, i think. Certainly tougher than me.
Google "Patsy Durack" if you're interested

We left here to go 45 mins up the road to Kununurra for a shop and a night.
