We stopped for the evening at Pardoo Roadhouse, a huge Wagyu beef cattle station and mining camp that has camping and a pool.
We drove down to sunset on 80 Mile Beach, which at 220 km long is reportedly the longest beach in the world. It's where the waters change from the Timor Sea to the Indian Ocean.

| Pretty rough, but a bowling green! |
 |
| It's a mining camp as well as a cattle station, so we were able to order freshly baked bread.. Yum! |
The next day, we made our way to Port Hedland for a couple of days.
We enjoyed a drink at a pub watching the endless stream of ships coming in to Port... 17 in the queue waiting to fill up with iron ore or lithium at Australia's busiest port.
The following day we did a port tour.
You know those things you do that sound pretty daggy but when you do it they are great? This was one of those experiences.
It was fantastic to go out on a small boat and tour the port and get up close to these massive ships, typically loading iron ore to China (as well as lithium) from BHP, Fotresque (Twiggy Forrest) and Roy Hill (Gina Reinhardt)
EVERYTHING is supersized here.
The trains are enormous... this is sped up x8
Salt pans produce tons, literally mountains, of salt for chlorine, industry and agriculture.
We left Port Hedland and drove south a few hours to Point Samson, doing a quick detour to see where Red Dog was buried by the local vet.
A Rio Tinto town, it's another (group of) town(s) existing solely to support iron ore. Rio Tinto don't have any facilities at Port Hedland so Point Samson is theirs. These companies don't share anything at all.
It's safe to swim! No crocs, sharks or jellyfish (yet!)
A good afternoon to sit in the shade with a drink.
On further south west to a roadhouse tomorrow.
